In the Decleration of Independance, which our Nation is based upon, I quote the following:

" When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation."

That most pf us, in a civilized manner, are required to list the actions that have lead them to Seperation.

I will continue the following, saying:

1.) Abuse by a few members - including bashing.

I think, me not ebing welcomed here, even though people have the choice to respond, and what to read, as all of this is voluntary, enough for to cause me to leave.

Yes, I came back to KW - To try and regain a intrest in Kendo.

Will I be taking Kendo anytime soon after this experince?

No anytime soon. You have proven to me that even "Martial Artists" can claim to follow the purity of the soul. That not even among people where some people say that ANYONE can take Kendo.

What has that told me?

That apparently, there are restrictions in Kendo.

You cannot share what you like, it always have t be about Kendo - even on a Kendo messgae board where they offer sections which do NOT have to be related to Kendo.

I'm not going to go on and on and on.

This is an international forum, based in Japan if I am correct, so using the American Declaration of Independence as a basis for argument is not necessary a valid argument.

I understand many of us, including myself, have been annoyed by your posts and bashed you (on the forum or in our heads), but it is because so little of the recent discussions have been of any real value to the Kendo information seeking community. Post kendo related questions and I am sure you will get a different response.

It's unfortunate that this happened, but I just wanted to point out that fighting fire with fire serves only to strengthen the dysfunction. If someone is in a deeply negative state and you show only anger, scorn, and arrogance by adding in your now redundant hate-and-disgust-post, you are consequently pulled into that state yourself and now serve to reflect back and feed off of the negativity of the original post, strengthening it with each subsequent reflection. The pair or group is then caught in a self-generating, self-perpetuating feedback loop that does nothing but further whatever negativity the original intent may have held.

I'm no Sigmund Freud, Carl Jung, or Dr. Phil, but it seems to me that Light is looking for some help, but just doesn't know how to go about looking for it. So maybe he's looking for attention and this is the way he's figured out that he can get it.

How many of us remember being so well-liked or so self-confident at 15? I remember that I wasn't one of the "in" crowd, or any other crowd, for that matter. I was, and still am, a loner, but now, it's by choice, not by circumstance.

As was stated, fighting fire with fire isn't the solution, but I see lots of bashing still going on in this thread. You don't have to like the guy.

He's looking for a kendo dojo, so far, he hasn't been able to find one where he lives. If I remember correctly, he's somewhere near Pittsburgh, which has only two dojo at the University of Pittsburgh and one at Carnegie-Mellon University.

Yes, he's sensitive to bashing, so are most 15 year olds - it goes with the territory. Perhaps if he were the star quarterback on his high school football team or the star pitcher for baseball, or the star player on the basketball team, he'd be different, but not every one of us is destined for such dubious greatness.

So lay off the guy for a while, even if he does irritate you, stop and think about how many times YOU irritate people in everyday life.
