my all time favourite is Guinness

Domestic Mexican Beer:

Bohemia
Sol
Pacifico
Montejo

Not necesarilly in that order, but according to my mood

Absolutelly hate Corona
I'm a bit partial to Mexican beers myself...maybe it has to with the fact that I live in Southern California?

My favourite three:

Pacifico (especially as a chaser after a shot or two of Don Julio and my alternate to Corona)
XX Amber
Guinness

Honorable Mention: Asahi Super Dry

My least favourite three:

Tecate
Any type of Coors
Corona

Dishonorable Mention: Fat Tire...tastes exactly like the name :P

The drinking scene is horrible over here. Everything is charged double of what's in London, and the options on tap is minimal. And then you get bottled ones (same price) and the choices are also rather limited. It's a crappy feeling having no spare cash in my wallet while not being drunk at all...!!

/end rant

Anchor Steam Old Foghorn
(The name is accurate as to it's effect on me. The wind from the blowhole can be extreme)

To my palette, pale ales have even less taste than light beers. Especially crappy India Pale Ales. In Canada we have a beer called Alexander Keith's IPA and it is hugely popular....yet I have no idea why. Well actually, it's probably because a lot of people who drink beer don't drink it because they like the TASTE, but because they want to get drunk.
Yeah, I had Keith's when I was in Nova Scotia a few years ago. The beer selection was horrendous, but I saw that Keith's was an IPA, so I figured it can't be too bad. It was. It tastes like Bud/Miller/Coors/Molson/Labatts. The only thing I can figure is that no one in Canada has ever tasted real beer, so they can use all the real-beer designations they want and no one will complain.

Hank.

Well in my opinion our standard beers (Labatts, Molson etc) are a little better than the american ones (Bud, Coors, etc). But there is good beer in Canada. In the west we have one fairly large brewery doing good beer and some smaller ones. Keep an eye out for Big Rock if you're ever in Alberta or Saskatchewan, it's not hard to find. They make several nice ales, a bock and a few other varieties.

There's a ton of microbreweries out east too.

I miss European draughts. Esp. Real Guiness, where it can take up to 15 minutes to get a pint poured.

I agree with your first statement. As for the second, they must not be in Nova Scotia, which was a disappointment to me. Every place we went (granted, not to Halifax) just had the standard selection of yellow lagers and Guiness - nothing local. I really can't believe that they call Keith's an IPA, though - that's just not right. But, anyway, Nova Scotia was very nice otherwise.

1. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, and if you don't like it, why, you just don't like BEER my friend. :P

2.*Any* German Heffe Weizen...

3. Asahi Super Dry.

Note: Kirin ichiban is for Girly-men-panty-waists.
There. I said it.

LOL
I'm with you on the first two, but I'd have to say I prefer Sapporo to Asahi (although if I remember correctly, it's made in Canada now). My other favorites are: Newcastle Nut Brown and Amber Bock (yes, an American beer *gasp*).

1) Staropramen, a Czech beer that makes up my main diet.
2) Guiness
3) Spitfire

And worthy of being mentioned for it's sentimental values; Asahi Superdry. It was too expensive for us bekkasei so I could usually only have it when we were out drinking with Kumakiri-sensei and the guys.

There isn't any better beer then the Belgium beers I sadly have to admit even thou the Dutch beers are a good second.

A nice double trappist or a La chouffe does alot of good to me:P yummy
I have to agree with you on this one. I really like a nice cold Palm or a Leffe (doesn't matter which kind) and a good third is a Hertog Jan straight from the tap .

no no, there are TONS of really good Canadian beer, it's just that the popular stuff tends to be bland because, well, most people who drink beer wouldn't know a good beer from a bad beer if it bit them on the ass.

They certainly do, definitely one of the better mass produced beers here.
