Default Newest addition to the dojo :)
Hopefully everyone is sitting down.............my spouse and I just found out shes expecting and it would appear shes about three months along already. So I'm in shock, in a good way but still shock nonetheless. We're not planning to find out the gender, just going to go with the surprise thing....and no Kenzan, it will not be 'a squirrel'
Its just such an amazing thing......I'm actually at a loss for words on the whole matter......
So I guess my 'little swimmers' are actually Ninjas! Because they got in there and completed their 'objective' LOL.

Thoughts on the whole thing just come at you a mile a minute, but the most important thing.........another person to do Kendo with.

I'm a newbie to the forum but I offer you my sincerest congratulations.

First things first, catch your breath and relax. And then just bask in the happy news.

And the very best of luck with preparations, check-ups, milestones and may you and your wife have a happy birth process.

As for someone else to do kendo with...well you are at least going to let your child learn to walk first right?

Congratulations. I feel bad for your wife, though. I mean, she did have to see your pink thing.

Congrats mate but you can bet your bottom Canadian Dollar by the time they are old enough to do kendo they will be into something else.

And do you know what? that is fine and dandy ( or 'cool' in your speak) because the kid is yours and so long as they grow up fit and well and do all the things that make them happy and that they love you as much as you love them - then all is good in the world.

Whta more could a good parent ask for then their kids to become the best that they can in whatever field they wish to choose.

just my thoughts people

Congrats to you and th' missus, good buddy!

So now we know what you were doing when you weren't either A) at the dojo, or B) posting in KW.

Are we correct to assume that the television was on the fritz?!?

To your night rest for quite some time.
All the cliches are true by the way:
Your life will never be the same anymore
Your kid is the most beautiful one in the world even if this isn't so
You will die first before admitting that your offspring is not perfect
If you give them tender loving attention they will get spoiled
If you treat them strict but fair they will become criminals
I'm sure there's more but I don't wanna spoil the party
All the best and strength you will need it.

Congratulations!!!! That is so awesome! I hope you have many years of enjoyment with your soon- to-be new little one.

Have fun picking out the name! Oh yeah... make sure it can't be twisted to be used against him/her. Kids can be really mean if a name is easy to be used in teasing. So, make sure the name is tease-proof.

I'm sure your new little one will be just beautiful. We expect to see photos after he/she is born!

Congratulations! Before you know it, you'll have a little pint-sized kendoka chasing you around. Be sure to get him a little pint-sized shinai for him to play around with!

As a father you have certain obligations both towards your family and the kendo community. This is my sensei's kid at age one, I expect no less: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxaa9-Fqki8

We had been thinking "Dweezel" or "Moon Unit" .....but seriously we are thinking of "Nikolai" for a boy, or "Ryiah" for a girl.

Oh, I wanted to ask you, your wife practice kendo too? If is yes, how will she do it with the training now she know she's pregnant?

Pure curiosity, some day i plan to have kids and I think it is nice to kn ow if you can keep going anyway.
