A quick update regarding promotional activity on AT.

We've been adopting a fairly relaxed approach to promotional activity and have a couple of sections where you can give your business a bit a plug or add special offers for the benefit of our members. It seems to be working reasonably well BUT we still have members coming to AT who are creating unrelated backlinks.

Call it a matter of coutesy if you like, but please refrain from adding unrelated backlinks completely as they add little or no value to the site. Also, please be aware that we continue to monitor new members on a daily basis and even if you add 40 or 50 posts without a backlink, we will remove your signatures if you decide to create them at a later stage and they don't reflect your services or posting history.

We want to keep the forum clean. This is for YOUR advantage as it gives AT a little more authority out there. By backlinking randomly, you don't only jeopardise the forum and the work of other members, but you also shoot yourselves in the foot at the same time.

Please don't be surprised to see backlinks or posts disappearing over the next few days. Just because I've had a short break, it doesn't mean I'm not looking at what's going on. You have the chance to address this yourselves. If you don't, it'll be passed over to me and I promise to be absolutely merciless. As always!
