Default The All-Inclusive "The Fame/The Fame Monster" Thread
By way of my friend Kerrie-Ann who works at Universal, I learned the big wigs canceled the release of the special edition of The Fame Monster which was to be entitled The Fame Monster Reloaded. But, not before the artwork was accidentally posted on iTunes Argentina for about an hour.

They were gonna do a physical and a digital release with Reloaded as the last track but according to my friend, GaGa might be using the song on the new album.

Thoughts?

Interesting. Although quite why they would feel the need to do a special edition of The Fame Monster (which is seen by some as a special edition of The Fame itself, in places where they are packaged together) is puzzling. It's selling perfectly fine as it is.

yeah, bad idea in my opinion. We don't need another rerelease. Keep the song for the 3rd album Gaga. There's no rush.

Glad they're not. I'm a sucker for special editions, but after a certain point, they start to really rub the wrong way on fans. One of my favorite bands from high school put out seven different editions of their last record and the reception was, uh, less than kind.

Not to mention I'm not sure how I feel about using recycled single artwork, as gorgeous as that shot is. They should focus on getting another single out if they really want to promote the record more.

I love Reloaded (the song), and I agree that we don't need a special edition of TFM. She should focus on the third album.

And I agree about the recycled artwork... that pic will always belong to the Alejandro era!

I just love The Fame Monster (though I usually skip So Happy I Could Die). One of the tightest, highest-quality pop albums released in YEARS, and it really capitalized on the growth and potential she'd been showing since the early days of The Fame. I like The Fame a lot, but it doesn't touch The Fame Monster for me.

Completely agree. I think the length certainly helps The Fame Monster; there's no fat or filler in there. But even so I just think the writing and performances and production on the whole is a big step up from The Fame.

I know the photo they used with the crows was in the Tour Book of the US leg of last year's Monster Ball. I was alerted to the reissue concept in '09 and I've had the cover above since at least November of last year. I think using these shots for the Alejandro remixes was pretty recent development and sort of an afterthought after they canceled The Fame Monster Reloaded.

Until one of us has an in with GaGa's creative team, I guess we won't know for sure the motivation of marketing and image, huh? lol

Didn't Alejandro single artwork leak though shortly before the actual record even came out?

Yeah. I got it at GagaDaily Forums awhile back.

It's also on YouTube. Just search "lady gaga reloaded" and it should be the first video that comes up (with over 1 million views).

The USB release is great, and the box is hella cute! But, i'm confused with the tracklisting.

I assume tracks 17-19 are from the Cherrytree sessions EP, and the rest are remixes..? The Fame (the title track) is listed 3 times, and as far as I'm aware the only released version of that song is the regular album version. So, it'd be nice if the retailer was a bit more clear with the bonus tracks. I want this, but I do have all of the songs already.. if it's going to feature new remixes or live cuts, I would get this.
