i would be better to bring it from USA as a carry on. not so good shipping it here.
there is an apple store in SD, i believe, in one of the malls.

I brought my mac in under my arm, no problemo....I would never put it in checked luggage.
I agree put it with carry on. Never put a computer in checked luggage. There is a store in Santiago that I have used to repair my Mac. I think they sell also, but if option--bring in from outside.

your much better off financially to buy it in the states, unpack it and carry in your luggage (used). The prices + taxes will do you in on a mac here.

looking for a macbook pro or Imac in DR or would it be better to just bring one in from the states?
