Default Canada gets its own "Fox News" type channel
I've a friend who works for Sun Media (online) who actually tendered his resignation today. He doesn't want his resume tainted, and he wasn't fond of the job anyway.

It's more blatant now. Everyone knew Sun media was right-leaning, but they still pretended to be journalists.

Conservatives can't be journalists?

I don't get it. Why can't Canadian conservatives just watch Fox News and wish they were American?

I think world view effects news reporting and presenting of everyone, whatever their place on the political spectrum.

The Sun phenomena was a good thing, going way back. In my opinion, the chain of papers helped drag politics back into the middle of the road after the mainstream had drifted quite a bit to the left.

I don't know how much room there is for their news station though, and I sure as hell do not want to pay an additional $0.05 for it. I hope their application for being required is turned down.

The National Post did not exist back then as it does today. Mainstream politics had already swung from the left by the time it began publishing.

No, you can be. The problem is they are intentionally and admittedly objecting "opinion" into their "news pieces", which causes them to cease being journalists.
And none of the more liberal stations do this?

And I'm not saying this to say it's a good thing. I just saying it to show that you need to watch multiple stations to get a better rounded idea of what the facts actually are. So for me Fox actually serves a purpose, and provides a little comic relief.

Yes I wish CBS would advertise their slant. I actually think FOX is more honest and open in that regard.

I like fox news. Yes its opinion/analysis shows are very conservative, but the news coverage isn't really biased in my opinion, rather it is the way they prioritize stories that makes it seem biased. I personally don't mind my news channel giving me information in the order I would prefer. That said I don't only watch/read fox news.

Fox News has repeatedly altered news stories to change what they're reporting on. They've no credibility and no one should ever, ever treat them as a news source -- only as an entertainment source.

Actually CBS was found guilty of the same thing.

And I think 'repeatedly' may be a touch excessive.
On far more than one occasion...

I don't know anything about CBS news because I'm not 80 years old.

I like the way they blatantly make up stuff and treat opinions as facts. That's always fun.

Fox isn't just biased more often, it is more biased as well. It's like comparing corruption in China to the corruption in the US.

Many of our recent Govenors served prison time, or are about too;
A good number of city alderman are serving time. It just never ends around here.

When I was young doing construction in the area, being up to code had no meaning, it was always, how big the bribe was.

Hmmm, Which is is worse? I'm sure there is evidence that supports either here. Probably a bad example.
No, just an example that you're too ignorant to understand. Get out of Chicago someday.

If you think Chicago doesn't have corruption running amok, you're the ignorant one. And if you believe Chicago is the only place in the US that has corrupt politicians, you're an idiot.

It means no such thing. No one used to get caught in Chicago either. We just finally got a federal guy with some balls. It still goes on just as much as it used to, but now some are getting caught and put in jail.

Maybe in a decade or so, all those that are caught may actually act as a deterrent. IT's obviously not at the moment because we're at an all time high in terms of numbers indicted.

The lack of getting caught means the corruption is more pervasive, because it's corrupt enough to ensure corrupt people don't get caught.
Asher, Chicago is a magical city. If they don't get caught it's because there is so much corruption to protect them. If they do get caught, it's evidence there is so much corruption. Rah may have read a few stories about corruption in Chicago, but it's clear doesn't know what he's talking about.
