Default 24 Finale thread
meh.

Is this show finished, I pray?
It's a season finale. We now have a female Bauer to go with the original as well.

Well they've covered all their bases. If kiefer wants to do more behinds the scenes he has a choice. If so we have a new jack to continue. I kept feeling like I was watching a better acting aniken. Usually the last 30 minutes of the final 2 hours is for tying up all the loose ends, but this season the joke was on us. My wife just looked up and said "IS THAT IT", so I guess she wasn't impressed. For me, I predicted it so I wasn't quite as dissapointed. This was NOT one of the better seasons, but I'm willing to cut them some slack based on overall history and wait to see what they do for the next season.

I know. That remains the most preposterous plot thread in the entire run of the show.

I haven't watched since I was put on graveyard. I was actually watching this season (never watched the show before this season actually). Walker was a cool character (helps she was hot of course).

Are they going to replay the season at all? Once I missed a few episodes I gave up on catching up. It seems like a cool show, but I should have watched when it was better in the first couple seasons.

pay for something that was free on tv at one time? not gonna happen.

and sadly, stuff I have paid for, I hardly ever watch. The movies I have bought, I have only watched one or two times. Even ones I really like like Terminator 1 and 2. It's weird behavior, or lazy... Sometimes I'll watch some terrible cheesy movie that I find flipping through channels (like Commando, or Invasion USA) rather than put in a good movie I have. But it requires me to take the dvd out of the sleeve, turn on the dvd player, plug in my sound system. Pull the rear speakers to my chair (I don't keep them out normally as the wires are a trip hazard), find the remotes etc.

Yeah, tony was reduced to a caricature. Brought back to life for that. The whole season was a debate on the question of the effectiveness of brutality when dealing with enemies of the state. Having the muslim cleric forgive and see the goodness in Jack in the last episode and Renee joining the darkside tells you how the producers felt about the issue.

In that case, he should thank Tony for killing Larry.

Aww

Kiefer does look a bit like he's posing for his cardboard cutout.

I was waiting for Janeane Garofalo to bust out a glock and kill everybody. At this point, with all the "twists" (double, triple, quadruple crosses), random psychotic violence is all the producers can do to keep things fresh. The constant upstaging of catastrophe made me forget what the point of the show was in the first place. The CIP device? Corrupt African warlord? They kept trying to trump their bad guys with bigger bad asses who were doing more devious things. Finally, Will Patton ended up being the man behind it all. I suppose, in his attempt to bring on the apocalypse, setting the stage for his eventual showdown with Kevin Kostner. When they decided to fight each other instead of having a huge battle with their armies, I didn't jizz... in... my... pants

Now I forgot what I was originally complaining about. That's what this season was like. So bad, they made you forget why it sucked.

Almost every 24 was written in segments of 4 to 6 episodes. Each set ending in catching a low level fish and introducing a bigger fish. It's good for all the conspiracy freaks that watch the show.

I think we can all agree that Janeane Garofalo was a bad casting decision that hopefully wouldn't be repeated.
And I have to agree that they went a touch overboard on the, Ok here's the next level bad guy, ok, he's dead, next cycle.

but now Jack is a grandpa... I think this means Kim is going to make cameos at some point every season. I mean, now the terrorists/double agents can take the baby hostage. What's the over/under on Agent Walker going rogue and taking Jack's granddaughter hostage? episode 11 of next season?

Jack is gonna die. Next season, it'll revolve around Kim Bauer. She was a CTU analyst.

It was said there was a chance of complications in the experimental treatment, right? We can only hope that the donor runs into some of these complications, while the treatment is still an overall success. Then we can have some hot Jack-Renee scenes without interruption by a certain former CTU analyst.
