What time is it on?

PetraCromlich 04-23-2007 07:13 PM

I've never seen it. When my DISH gets installed, hopefully I'll be able to pick it up through DVR (slowly).

(Acquiring through other means is, at the moment, impossible)

Best. Hero. Evah.

I don't think Peter is going to die, as the previews are making me believe. I think the guy telling his mom he's dead in the preview is the chick who can make illusions. I think Peter kill Syler.

What is the show like? I read it's about people with super abilities, but I've also heard it allegedly being similar to LOST. So what is it really like and how worth watching is it? It's very good, well worth watching.

It's about people with super abilities, it's like LOST in that it's an epic story (better than LOST's too) that unfolds slowly with lots of twists.

What are the premises of separate episodes normally built around? I mean, LOST was (at least for starters) where one episode dealt with one new aspect of the island. On Heroes, is it a save-the-world-each-episode show like Stargate? No, it's an epic plot line. The pieces fit together, more so each episode, and the plot line progresses to a foreshadowed by event/showdown.

You won't regret it.http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/smile.gif

Where Lost seems often incapable of advancing the plot in any meaningful way, Heroes juggles about 6 plotlines and plunges forward headlong. Much more entertaining, much less pretense.

aaafluochugh 04-23-2007 11:48 PM

That was quick.

Despite living in an, as Asher puts it, third-world country, I can acquire an episode in only a few minutes. Got to have some signs of civilization http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/smile.gif. BTW, was surprised that Hero has longer eps than most shows. Or at least the first one was.

Also Lost kills a lot of time with the flashbacks-- While they do assist in understanding the characters a little bit better, many of them do not advance the present day plot even one little bit Yes, but Heroes is gay.

Spoiler: R.I.P., Mystery Sock.

Awesome hero fight, awesome hero jailbreak, awesome hero interactions, awesome final scene, just plain awesome.

So what do y'all suppose her superpower is? Premonition, a la Mystery Sock? And what was Mystery Sock talking about at the end, his big revelation?

Premonition, a la Mystery Sock? And what was Mystery Sock talking about at the end, his big revelation? Mystery Sock? Did I miss something? -nm

I have no idea what Issac was talking about. Great episode though.

I may have to rewatch that episode ( edit or do you just mean where he threw Sylar off??)

More generally I haven't totally understood what he needed to do to acquire a power. It seemed contact with someone was enough-- But with a Sylar, I don't know if he gets all the powers or JUST the powers that Sylar was using at the moment

I also wondered if Sylar NEEDED to kill his victims to acquire their power or if he just does it because he doesn't want other super-beings bugging him
