Ooooooh. This is getting nasty right away.

It's my vote! If some are going to twiddle their vote away on Obama, I can certainly vote for the name David Floyd.

I voted. You think I don't know that tidbit? So? I voted mixed ticket, as you can probably tell.

I'll be sure to use this tidbit next time I'm talking to a reporter on the voting age.

"You can't deny the right to vote to youth when adults often don't vote rationally. I know an otherwise intelligent older voter who voted for a candidate because he had the same name as a friend of his. Youth could hardly do a worse job if given the right to vote."

Doesn't he live near a major urban area? He might be black. Iowa isn't near anything major... Though he is moving to DC and that place is mostly black

What if I'm not in the mood to have a nice day? Who are you to presume I want to have a nice day?

They could easily do a worse job. Sloww's voting method is likely to have no correlation with likely job performance of the chosen candidate. It could well be that 12 year-olds' votes would be negatively correlated with said job performance.

That reminds me of the 2004 Libertarian Senator candidate for Illinois, Jerry Kohn.

I was torn between voting for the guy based on his name and party affiliation, or Barack Obama based on his ties to the UC.

I think I ended up voting for Pat Buchanan, like those elderly Jews.
