That makes sense. It seems odd that the TV would say that if it was 10x what I experienced.

10x as much force produced in the initial waves ... that doesn't necessarily mean that it is 10x as bad, per se. IIRC, the 'bad' is a lot more determined by what kind of waves are being produced... but i'm not the geologist here.

Apparently a building a few blocks away lost part of its facade. The floor above us lost some ceiling tiles. We have an old patched crack in our wall that opened again.

Nothing major.

I ran into the wife of one of my former roommates. We had lunch together. My former roommate's daughter, who I still think of as the little 3-year-old who used to run around his legs and hide, is about to go college hunting. Time passes so quickly.

The point being California should have these centres too, if they don't have already.

Bah! I don't believe that. This was too friggin' big for a mere 5.4. I'm still cleaning the poop out of the back of my underwear. Ok understood. Take care.

Yipes! I just spotted two long aluminum panels that feel off the ceiling in the corridor outside my office. Someone had pushed them to the side, so I hadn't noticed them before.
