It was die hard uber Serbian nationalism which destroyed Yugoslavia by up setting the ethnic balance of the country. Slobo's moves to end the autonomous status for both Voyvodina and Kosovo meant that Serbia would always have more then 50% of any parliament vote.

The other republics just couldn't accept Serbia so dominating Yugoslavia and running it so exclusively in their interests instead of Yugoslavia's greater national interests. This was the same problem the pre-WW2 Kingdom of Jugoslavia (the name back then) had and that's exactly why Tito made Voyvodina (the northern part of Serbia which is mostly ethnic Hungarians) and Kosovo (southwest Serbia which is mostly Albanian) politically separate. It was designed to maintain a balance of power between the ethnic groups and the Serbs totally destroyed that resulting in succession and civil war.

The fires raged for half an hour, and when firemen finally managed to get inside the building they found a charred body.

The body has not been identified, though US officials said all embassy staff had been accounted for. So, a rioter?
