I would like a gun as a means of self defense if ever there were a New Orleans style breakdown where I live, but it is virtually against the law to own a gun in Australian suburbia.

I wouldn't even know where to get a gun from. I'm middle class and I don't live in south London. I've never even seen a gun in real life before.

Used to own a single-shot hunting rifle, my 13th birthday present. Used to go hunting and target shooting with my Dad.

Got rid of it about 20 years ago.

I don't own one, since I'm in the city. Well, even if I were in the country, I doubt I'd own one, since I wasn't brought up in a household that had them.

But my sister and her husband just built their 14 year-old son a really nice gun cabinet. I helped them move it to the living room to be "under the tree" on Christmas Eve. Their family also uses hunting bows and muzzle-loaders.
