It looked like a situation that could have gotten massively out of hand but was very controlled.
Like someone stated, he got nothing to loose. He could have very easily gone for a gun and started to shoot (One of the reason's I am against firearms in a court room. Don't let them in, but keep an armed officer just outside the room). Also, he should have been cuffed and shackled. He was already convicted, this was his sentencing hearing. They knew what he was facing and should have taken proper precautions. |

One where they had enough forsight to staff it like that, but not enough to cuff the felon (which makes me believe that this is somehow a situation where either a state/county law/departmental policy does not allow a convicted felon to be cuffed). |

Officers converge on enraged teen after sentencing With that murderous record of his and such an incredible temper, Dexter Johnson will probably last longer on the Row than he would've on the outside. The average in Texas is, what, 8-10 years? With a little luck, he might yet make it to thirty, yay. |
