Summary: crappy food is cheap, so poor people eat lots of crappy food and get fat.

Really? Wow. Here regular and diet soda are the same price.

But generally the pattern holds. Eating right is pricer.

If we must subsidize agriculture, and I don't think we do, then why not use it to encourage people to eat healthier foods? Subsidize veggies and fruits and cut back on the corn and soybean subsidies.

Sugar and starch are less filling and more calorie dense then veggies. You have to eat more to feel full.
