#7 has to be Spoiler: Cleopatra based on the non-Egyptian style among other things, which makes it look ugly .

Any chance #10 is Spoiler: Amenkhotep III ? Probably not, though.

And #9 is just obscure. The statue reminds me of another statue, which is of Khafra, but #9 isn't him. Throw in a timeframe hint . @ Solver

Well done!
You got 3, 6, and 7 right. And you're really close on 10. Try again and you'll probably get it. As for 9, I can't give up too much information or I'll give it away, but here's a hint: Spoiler: Think fairly late, but certainly not as late as, say, number 7.

Good job guessing all the ones that have already been guessed

Good guessing!

So now this leaves four unguessed Pharaohs:
the troublesome 9 and 10, as well as the much easier 2 and 8, which very ironically have not yet been guessed.
You'll kick yourself if you get them wrong.

Well...
Spoiler: I said Amenkhotep III, so based on that comment, it'd have to be Amenkhotep II. Can't imagine anyone else being really close

#9 still has me puzzled. One idea I had (I know it's wrong) is

Spoiler: Piye, the Nubian king, but this certainly can't be him, and I'm fairly sure no Piye's statues have been found.

Is #8 Spoiler: Tuthmosis III ? Sure looks like him.

I know that #2 is one of the "big names", but can't figure him out at this point for some reason. Well, you're close on 8 and 10, but you haven't got them yet.
Spoiler: Think chronologically on #10. Huge hint: Amenhotep III is a relative. On #8, you're dizzyingly close but made the same mistake Shiva did.

As for 2 and 9, here are some hints:
Spoiler: Think later than Piye on 9. On #2, you say he's a "big name." Think REALLY BIG.

8. Nope, try again.
9. Spoiler: Yes, later than Piye.
10. Correct! Good job.

Wha, really? I was quite positive #8 is what I said, but if both Shiva and I make the mistake... .

Provided your hint, #10 is Spoiler: Tuthmosis IV And if we were close on #8, I assume Spoiler: he's a she - Hatshepsut?

Now that all the Pharaohs have been guessed, I'll post the answer key:

1. Serqet ("King Scorpion")
2. Ramses II, the Great
3. Narmer
4. Menkaure
5. Djoser
6. Akhenaton
7. Cleopatra VII
8. Hatshepsut
9. Ptolemy I Soter
10. Thutmosis IV

Good guesses, everyone. Thanks for playing. For anyone who wants another round, I'll attach a quiz that Locutus made a while back that was fun.

Well, Egyptians were a strange bunch. With the exception of Akhenaton, there are pretty different depictions of every pharaoh. Yes that's true. And it's interesting that they could be so diverse while still adhering to the same stereotypical standards.

Maybe Civ's leaderhead could use a false beard?

3. Ramesses II again? Yes much easier. You're correct on all your guesses, though I'm not sure if 2. can be easily delineated as Menes or Narmer or what.

Are there any portraits of Narmer/Menes besides the palette?

Judging by the looks I think #8 is one of the Amenemhats of Dyn 12 (I don't think you would pick 2 Senwosrets )

And #9 is of course our hero, Ramesses 2 I'm very sorry to have to tell you this, but all your guesses are wrong.

Here's some hints:

4. Older than Senwosret.
6. That's what I said the first time too. But it's actually a guy.
8. More famous than the Amenemhats or Senwosrets.
9. Nope, but you're on the right track.
