My first thought, " I want to go home." ![]() ![]() ![]() Remember waiting forever for a bus (though I don't remember much of the airport). Everything was confusing. They seemed to arbitrarily put people on the bus. Then they lined us up. I can't remember how they divided us up at that point. And I remember cockroaches running around on the ground while we were lined up outside. Finally got to my rack. I think I fell right asleep. And I do remember that first rude awakening (it wasn't the last). I got up quickly. They were screaming and yelling. And yes there is always that one guy who didn't wake up (don't ask me how). The CC's got right in his face. I remember feeling bad for the guy. ![]() and then there are the smells. Boot bamp had it's own unique smells. Part of it was the swampy smell of the Oralando/Winter Park area which was quite different from the desert. And then there's the RIF smell. Brand new fire retardent dungarees. I didn't smell that the first day though. I think it was a day and a half before we got our clothes. And the other companies would pass by ours sniffing and saying rif. I still don't remember what that means. And I do remember falling asleep in those boring classes struggling to take notes. I used to fall asleep at the dentist. The dentist was the best part of boot camp. ![]() |
