So, I'm going to college

We have another poster at Wash U http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/biggrin.gifhttp://www.discussworldissues.com/im...ons/icon14.gif

Ah, civman, I remember that now.

I'm leaning toward engineering ATM, probably aerospace or mechanical.

My recollection is that WashU has a good International Relations program http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...milies/nod.gif

Then you can come up here (Chicago) for graduate school http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...milies/nod.gif

My advice:

Stay away from the stoners.

South 40 is a gay name, avoid saying it.

Try to attend a sporting event. Those are huge there. NO THEY ****ING AREN'T. But that's good because fewer "jock" types.

Admire the scnery. Not all campuses have a lot of open spaces like washU.

Get a single.

It's generally a good idea to want to study something before deciding to go to school.

nannysuetle 12-15-2006 06:13 AM

Why the **** would you want to go to Yale?

VIAGRA- 12-15-2006 06:18 AM

What do you want to study?

QRhnNSg9 12-15-2006 06:20 AM

You shouldn't PM me stuff. I never check my PMs.

Just start a thread and after the question gets answered it will turn into a math thread.

I don't know anything about US undergrad stuff, but Yale doesn't have a reputation in physics or math for graduate work.

SigNeewfoew 12-15-2006 06:26 AM

You don't get to do any real physics courses unless you actually take physics, though. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/frown.gif

inownsuipsy 12-15-2006 06:29 AM

a) That's a crappy source since the data is from 1994 (I know, because I looked at it when deciding on graduate schools)

b) IIRC it ranks Yale pretty low according to most measures

arcaniagainee 12-15-2006 06:36 AM

I would have liked to have gone there, and I suppose I still could transfer there, it is just easier to go to UNT since a.) I already live by it, and b.) have to pay for everything myself, so moving to St. Louis (or anywhere) is impractical ATM.

Good luck http://www.discussworldissues.com/im...ons/icon14.gif

My advice: LEAVE when you finish your undergraduate degree. Don't be like me.

'Just one more year' I told myself. *sobs*

Washington U, hmm, a couple people where I work went there for architecture. The program there is fairly good, if you don't value sleep.

If you're going to Yale you may as well do econ/business.
