It's a running gag. During one of the '04 US Presidential debates, Pres. Bush made one of his typical Bushisms. He said, "I hear there's rumors on the Internets..." and thus a phrase was born.

One time I went to a site called "dslreports.com" which is a broadband testing/info site, and I mispelled "dsl" as "dls" and a site called daily live sex came up...i bet porn makes up alot more than that...
