Just wanted to say something about Paypal as this company has been mentioned here.

A week ago I got an e-mail which was a receipt for something that I had ordered. I hadn't ordered anything and I don't even have an account with them. I found the Paypal home page (not the one that was on the e-mail I was sent) and reported this e-mail. I received a reply saying that e-mails like the one I received are bogus and that this is one method used to obtain either your account number with Paypal or details of your credit cards or bank account numbers. So be careful.

Just finished reading Nina's "watchfulness" thread and the bio of Metropolitan Hierotheos, and I have to say, if I'd read both of those before hearing that iffy theology I heard, I'd have known where to look for the "right stuff" and, if I'd been truly watchful, I'd also have known how to let iffy theology go in one ear and out the other.

Those threads should be required reading for all us "newbies", in whose number I include myself, since in all the years I've been Orthodox, I've only got as far as "the basics".
