Default A Card Game Like Yu-Gi-Oh
I know I'm not to talk specifically about Yu-Gi-Oh, but I want to make a game somewhat similar. Not so much I can get sued, but still so it requires the same kind of strategy. Any thoughts on that? I'm probably going to name it 'Battle Heroes' in Japanese or something.

Well if you want it to be turn based and similar use concepts of yugioh but change names and slightly alter the concepts.

OK... mental beta phase.

Name: Undecided

Gameplay: The game will be a bit different from Yugioh, but keep some of the aspects. Instead of having direct life points, you will have Resources, and then Life Points. Resources are like war supplies - reinforcements, armor, medicine, etc. You can gain resources by killing or robbing your enemy. You and your enemy will have camps, and they can choose to attack each other - if they know where it is. Certain camp cards can be veiled and must be searched for with a Search card, or you'll have half the chance of hitting the camp. Behind your camps will be castles, where troops can retreat to for regeneration and resources (but that runs out). The object of the game is to kill your opponent's monsters, gain resources, destroy their camps, move past them and finally destroy the castle (which has a certain amount of life I haven't decided).

Next, there are monsters. There will be many different types, like in Yugioh, and tributes, but there are special things you must tribute to summon certain creatures. Each of them are killed in one battle, like in Yugioh, but they have defense that can cancel the effect of damage if high enough. They have attack, like in Yugioh, but they also have evasion, which allows them to dodge.

I'll come up with more stuff, and I'll need all of your help. So please, offer your ideas.

The whole "finding the camp" idea confuses me, but otherwise sounds cool so far.

Yeah, I felt it was a bit over-the-top. I haven't sorted that one out well.
