I think it is the other way around, death is not something that can be done without some sort of punishment, because the punishment is what makes us not kill eachother.

In all seriousness though, I believe I would have the nerve and capacity to take a life. I don't mean to come off sounding heartless, but if I was in a kill or be killed scenario I doubt I'd have a problem pulling the trigger like some people might. I don't believe in an afterlife so death is generally the worst possible outcome of any event. To avoid this I'd be willing to kill someone, it's pretty simple.

Would I kill someone just for making me mad? I highly doubt it, but I suppose I could imagine a circumstance in which it might happen. For example if they killed my friends, family, etc. Just general every day angry though? No. Mine is not so out of control I wish to go around killing people.
