beacuse 4Kids sux, nough said, heck, they are even getting sued (hopefully that still goes through) by the anime makers from Japan for Yugioh, and they filed bankruptcy...

To explain why 4 kids sucks lets take a look at their name. They are doing what they do for children, and children are very easy to please. This is why we get crappy dubs, and localizations. The kids don't care about the voices and the familiarity makes them enjoy the show more. So next time you see a rice ball called a doughnut you can blame little Jimmy next door.

There are also too many people who shirks the good dubs because of the bad dubs. I'm thinking Haruhi Suzumiya, Lucky Star, Baccano, Disgaea, Hellsing, and Eden of the East to name a few. Don't shirk all dubs because someone has messed up in the past. Give everything a try, and if you don't like it go onto the subs. Then again this forgiving opinion does come from someone who gets headaches from focusing on sub-titles so take it or leave it.

My god, imagine if 4kids tried to localize something like Hellsing or Elfen Lied >.o I'd never be able to look at those anime again.

But seriously, while I personally despise 4Kids for their piss poor localization skills, they are intent on making shows like Yugioh kid friendly...as bloody difficult as that is. To be honest, the reason why 4Kids is getting sued is because they're taking credit for dubbing certain anime without the japanese companies awareness of the matter, which is completely unrelated to how crappy their dubs are.

Well trying to make things kid friendly is one of the problems with this country. We are sheltering our youth to a frightening degree, and it's one of the reasons kids have so many problems in America.
