We daily create a remote (Atlanta server) back up to another server in another data center, as well as a local (Dallas server) backup. These things all run “automagically” and you tend not to look at them unless you have a problem.

It appears the local backup of DR1, combined with the processing of large log files ate up all the hard disk space on one of the drives on the server.

The message board runs on a mysql database and is constantly writing to the server. If it has no space, then it just shuts down and gives that very nice warning page you have all been reading.

The drive has been cleaned up and we will have to wait and see if the problem has been fully resolved at 3am (EST), when the server performs it’s next routine back up.

Life used to be so simple…
