Jasper, after reading your post, I called my friend in Samana. She said it was dead calm there. There has been no wind or rain due to Isabel and the phones are working.

can anybody in samana let me know what's going on today (sunday)? i can't get through to my wife. lots of rain and wind? telephone lines maybe knocked down? thanks in advance.

Talked with a friend in Samana this morning. At that time it was a beautiful day. Isabel is passing so far from Samana that I don't think you have anything to worry about.
