Well, it's the end of an era. The Jag (XJ40) has gone, replaced by an Audi - our first foreign car. However there is still one British Leyland relic left - my 94 M Rover 214 Si.
I really want to get rid of it, but it's not as straight forward as you might think. About two months ago I was driving back from Bristol on the Motorway with my dad, mum and brother all in the car when I noticed blue smoke coming from the exhaust pipe. We called out the RAC, and the patrol guy said that the head gasket had blown. Now I thought about selling the car bit by bit on eBay, but then I realised that a) where am I going to store all of the parts and b) what do I do with the empty shell that I'm left with? If I sold it privately, as is, does anybody know how much would it be worth, is it recommended? These are the specs: November 1994 M Rover 214 16v Sprint 3 door, metallic blue, grey cloth interior, 72K miles, 220 GTi six spoke alloy wheels with full size spare. |
