Default Black Spot Reunion
In August 2010 we held a two-day reunion of musicians who used to play at the Black Spot, precursor to Java Jazz, Blue Horn and Flat Five. The Spot was active in the very early 60s, and was situated atop the hill on Dunbar Street.
It was amazing the guys and gals that showed up for the reunion, some travelling a long way (Ron Proby, Montreal, Derek Ireland, Toronto to name a couple) and there was great camaraderie, catching up, and even some jamming. Day 1 was at Cravings Restaurant in Marpole, Day 2 at Scot Simmons' beautiful home in Lions Bay.

There were of course key members who were sadly not with us, like Al Wiertz.

Lots of photos taken! If you're interested, see Facebook's Black Spot page or Flickr's Black Spot page.

Comments, updates, anecdotes welcome.
