Default Traneumentary
Hi Everyone,

I just discovered these wonderful podcasts about John Coltrane and his music at www.traneumentary.blogspot.com

It looks like there are 32 different episodes, many featuring great musicians talking about his influence including Mccoy, Liebman and Geri Allen.

Just listening to an episode featuring Lewis Porter, I learned that the final track of A Love Supreme not only has an overdubbed saxophone at the very end (alto?), but also additional overdubs of bass and drums. You can hear Elvin playing cymbals and tympani at the same time on the last note, and Jimmy Garrison both bowing and strumming his bass. I had never noticed this before.

This should keep me busy for a while. Coltrane lives!
