Randy Travis, do you know how to get arrested or what: The country singer, nabbed on suspicion of misdemeanor DWI and more Tuesday night in North Texas, allegedly had elements of nudity, nicotine and more than one 911 call woven into his evening.
On a more serious note, events also included a single-car collision and an alleged threat to shoot and kill his arresting officers, which resulted in Travis being held on a charge of retaliation, a third-degree felony that carries with it up to 10 years behind bars and a $10,000 fine.
Before Travis' arrest Tuesday night, a convenience store clerk had dialed 911 to report a naked man -- a regular customer who regularly wore clothes, according to the Dallas-Forth Worth NBC affiliate -- who'd come in seeking cigarettes, then left in frustration when queried about how he would pay for them.

Cut to another 911 call to the Grayson County sheriff's office a little after 11 p.m. CDT, describing a man lying by the side of a road. Troopers who responded found a Pontiac Trans Am that had been driven off the road and into some construction barricades, as well as 53-year-old Travis, the registered owner of the car, naked, bruised and smelling of alcohol.
The alleged threats to "shoot and kill the officers working the case" came after the DWI arrest, while the singer was being transported, the sheriff's office said in a statement. Additionally, Travis refused to take a blood-alcohol breath test, so blood was drawn later at the hospital.
Travis' rep had no immediate comment for the Associated Press. The country star was released on $21,500 bail Wednesday morning and was photographed heading for his ride in light blue scrubs, bare feet and a University of Texas ball cap.
This is the country star's second odd, alcohol-related arrest this year. In February, he was arrested on a public-intoxication charge after being found allegedly slurring his words and smelling of booze, parked at a Baptist church with an open bottle of wine in the front seat of his Pontiac.

Randy Travis in trouble again

PLANO, TX (KLTV) - Country singer Randy Travis has had yet another brush with the law in North Texas.

Plano Police say Travis was involved in a scuffle in the Preston Wood Baptist Church parking lot, off Preston Road in Plano late Thursday night.

Travis was cited for simple assault, a Class C misdemeanor, that officials equate with a traffic ticket. Travis was not arrested in relation to the altercation.

Although various media outlets are reporting Travis was hospitalized after the incident, Plano Police say Travis was not transported in an official capacity by their department or the Collin County Sheriff's Office.

Officials did not comment on whether Travis was intoxicated at the time of the altercation.

This is the country crooner's third run-in with authorities in North Texas this year. In February, he was arrested for public intoxication in Denton.

In August, Travis was charged with driving while intoxicated and retaliation for allegedly threatening to shoot and kill troopers in Tioga, TX.
