Default How many of us might be considered "Dealers"?
Many people buy gold or silver when prices are low, and sometimes sell or trade when spot prices are up. So a private individual who routinely buys and sometimes sells, might be considered a 'dealer' - especially by a revenue-hungry city or state.

The penalties are extreme.

I guess they see an opportunity in scamming the growing non-cash underground market that is to overtake the "fake" market in short time. Madison is chock full of students and libtards that teach them, and bureaucrats that regulate the whole fucking shit hole. They should start their own country.

You ask a lot of personal questions for someone who joined less than a month ago.

I have one for you, what was your last screen name here?

What I don't understand is that gold/silver is a hedge against currency devaluation. So, if it goes up in "value", that is only because the dollar has "lost value". Then the increase in pm's isn't really a "profit" but a securing/safeguard of value. So, why do we get taxed on it? Kinda f*cked in my mind............

I would advise all members to avoid answering questions like this, especially ones that imply anything that could be used to assign a title such as "second hand dealer" with the associated "severe penalties". Most of us here are savvy enough not to ask questions like this. Am I paranoid? Sure, but that doesn't mean they're really not out there...

This new law requires that secondhand dealers, including secondhand jewelry dealers and pawnbrokers report the purchase of secondhand goods, on a daily basis, through the use of a web-based software called Leads Online. Use of the word "include" is used in the legal sense to exclude anything not listed. Therefore secondhand dealers are ONLY secondhand jewelry dealers and pawnbrokers.

Too many people ASSUME that the words used actually mean what they say they mean. Instead construe these words by the definitions provided and, if they apply, act accordingly.

Expressio unius est exclusio alterius. The expression of one thing is the exclusion of another.

Some of you guys are pretty funny. You remind me of that old movie with the famous line, "I know who you are, and I saw what you did" - with the result of paranoid (guilty?) people going ballistic. Funny as hell.

Me? I couldn't care less who you really are or where you actually live. Let alone what the fuck you do. Just a conversation-starter. And boy, some of you go insane! You're too funny.

(PS: I'm still on my first screen name here. How many have YOU had?)

Lots of people have developed their hobbies to the point where they make some money. I know of a couple guys who buy old cars, fix them up and resell them for a profit. If they do more than X number of cars a year, they're technically dealers. So the way they do it is leave the titles open - they never have the cars in their name. Or if they have to put in a name, it may be the wife, one of their kids, a neighbor or friend... You get the picture.

I know a Ham radio operator who likes to mess around with special circuits. He builds some little antenna attenuators and sells them to other Ham enthusiasts, as a side business. I have a lady friend who has a sewing machine that does embroidery, and she does special jackets and such for the local high school athletic teams. Some people breed horses or tropical fish. You name it. One thing we all have in common: The government has become a predator, and we're all just red meat to them. So stay below the radar, or outside the jurisdictions of those who would shake you down.

I've had 3, and I've asked the mods to change it each time so no sock puppets here.

No way in hell you are not a sock puppet of someone, and since sock puppets are against the rules I put forward the motion that you be banned, all in favor say "aye" all opposed say "nay"

I do not offer a vote because the rules do not provide for a vote; this matter is at the discretion of JQP & Co.

The burden of proof lies upon the claimant; LuckyStrike has merely offered speculation to support his position. This farce of his may yet be considered a personal attack, and I advise Lucky that luck is the residue of design.

The only to conclusively determine who is a sockpuppet of whom is for an administrator to compare IP addresses. Posting from the same IP address within a short period of time on two accounts would indicate that they belong to the same user. As mundane users do not have access to IP data, none of us can make this determination.

nay. No one has proved the case. All on your assumption. Until the guy outs himself, then all allegations are a personal attack.

LOL, funny you should pipe up which brings us to our second order of business.

I make a motion that Fenris should also be banned because sock puppets are against site rules. All in favor say "aye" all opposed say "no"
