Please school me on everything you guys know about warts. Not the STD kind, but the common on you hand warts or more specifically Plantars warts.

I had one on my toe, I've been trying to "dig" it out with fingernail clippers for about 4 weeks going until I hit blood and stopping until it heals to try to dig deeper. It seems to have spread as I now have 5 on one toe and it is incredibly painful to even walk on it. I have tried topical wart "patches" from dr. scholls and those dont really seem to be working as they seem to only kill the top layer of skin but dont get deep enough to kill the wart. I'm considering the freezing treatments next but I dont want to freeze my whole toe and with 5 on there it will pretty much be my entire toe http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...milies/sad.gif

Are there any home remedies that actually work? Collodial Silver? Oil of Oregano? etc?

Whatever you do, don't use a 45.

When you hit blood, you didn't go deep enough. I've cut out probably 5-6 warts from my hands. When you hear a "crunch" sound when you're cutting it out, then that's the part that needs to come out.

Although if you don't want to go that route. Tea Tree Oil also removes warts. Just takes a lot longer. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/smiley.gif

well, my favorite home remedy is, put some peanut butter on it, drink some whiskey, and let rats chew on it.

just don't fall asleep or they might chew too much, and it will look like that guy who shot himself in the foot.

oh yeah, afterwards you pour whiskey on it to sterilize it.

Get about six bottles of good bourbon, I.W. Harper, and go up into the hills, up into the mountains near the lakes where nobody can find you and just stay there all alone until it's over.

I'm going to try rubbing a banana peel on my toe for about 30 seconds, then tapeing a piece of gauze soaked in ACV every night before I sleep. If it isn't too bulky I'll try the ACV taped gauze during the day in my shoe too.

I'll let you guys know how it works!

Keep us posted Big Country, and best of luck. I know ACV is pretty amazing stuff, I've used it to clean heavy oxidation off of aluminum parts, it fizzes and just takes it off.

On a similar note, anyone know if you can be immune to warts? When I was a teen, I used to get an occasional small one on my hands. I can't remember what I used to remove it, but I haven't had one in over 20 years. Possibly, I know I'm immune to the herpes virus (cold sores) as my wife gets them if she's been in the sun too long or eats too many high citrus foods. I've never had a cold sore. I still get the occasional wart on my hand every couple of years. So I would think it's possible to be immune. The virus doesn't really mutate that I am aware of just lays dormant and crops up from time to time.

Yes, ACV worked very well. Just FYI, when the wart was shrinking it got really dark in color but I just kept up with the ACV. One day it was just gone, as if it had never been there. I also put vaseline on the skin surrounding the wart so the ACV wouldn't irritate the normal skin.

dude thats hardcore! Got tired of the damn things growing back. Even learned a trick to keep the blood from rushing in and getting in the way of the cutting. LOL

Warts have a white core that is harder than regular skin. They make a crunch sound when you start cutting into it. Go a little bit deeper after you hear it and voila all gone. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ilies/grin.gif

Colloidal Silver works on plantar warts. Other stuff in this thread is good too.

I know people that have used this stuff on a moles, and it's the most amazing thing I've seen. All natural, and works like magic. It really does work better than anything out there. If it's as effective on warts as it is on moles, problem solved.

How would you apply the silver? I have a small wart on one of my fingers that has been there for a couple years. Lately it seems to be growing. Same process as the ACV: soak colloidal silver in gauze and secure in place with tape of your choice. Takes a while to go away due to lack of topical penetration on the CS, but it does work, I've seen it work. Honestly ACV and CS would be my first two tries for something like this.
