Marines in combat zones are always supposed to have weapons within their reach Says it all.

Is there a military leader in history that had his troops disarm before they could approach him?

Who's more deserving of a bullet, innocent Afghani civilians or a treasonous government official?

Dont know this guy very well but after seeing him talk the other day I can understand why they dont want any guns around............he seemed very shifty to me........

Yes, its called ROME.

No Military was allowed into Rome. And when the General wanted to talk to the Roman Senate, he had to leave his sword behind, and come into the city ALONE. The ancient Roman Republic fully understood the dangers of standing armies.

That was only for approaching the senate. The thinking was that the tempation to overthrow the republic would be too great.

The same rules did not apply in the field. In the field, a general without armor and a sword was laughable, no? A general who was afraid to address armed troops would also be laughed at.

Being hoisted by one's own petard is funny in an ironic tragic way.

Panetta's disarming of the troups while in hostile territory, particularly during these heated circumstances, is fucking treasonous. He has put these soldiers' lives at stake. He has demoralized these soldiers. These men and women in uniform are good enough to fight and die for America; but, they cannot be trusted around the Secretary of Defense! Panetta is a treasonous scumbag. Anyone who'd for fight for this treasonous government in Washington is a fool. If the military ever decides to throw these treasonous bums out for their neverending crimes against the Constitution, I am with the military and the Constitution.
