Default Just changed banks
How many have seen bank fees increase or suddenly appear? My bank (old) started charging a minimum balance fee and a fee for a hard copy statement. I only keep money in the bank for paying my bills each month.

It just goes sideways with me for them to charge me for keeping money in their bank, I only write maybe 5-6 checks a month to cover bills.

So I went from a national (sorta) to a regional one that there are no minimums, free checks (like my old bank did) Like that debt card thing a month or so ago, they have your money to do what they will with it. And charge you for providing it to them.

Girrrrrr. greedy bastards.

I used to have all sorts of bank problems especially with my business. Finally changed to a local credit union waiting for the typical tricks but that hasn't happened in 12 years.

It is all good now, but I am thinking of looking at the local credit union next.

I have use this same bank for 30 years, but not no more.

Check the fees associated with insufficient funds/overdrafts etc. I have a backup account tied to the main account and they will transfer funds for a dollar.

Thanks, As I said, I only use a bank for paying bills. It was the fees even if they were not much that sorta pissed me off. If I do not keep 'so much' they hit me with a fee. Plus $ 5.00 each month for the statement they mail me. Its all good for now, I would do away completely with banks of all stripes. Except then it is down to money orders to pay bills, and the hassle to do it.

Getting to the age that in a year I can draw on ss {yea I know} but I payed into that thing, so I want something out. (legal beagles and such here stay away) y_rofl.gif And I may sell this place, and hit the road to go to the places that I have always wanted to see. So I will need some kind of financial base that is fair, hard to do if your address changes day too day.

Another thing, until all incoming checks clear, you account needs to stay open. But then do not let anything ride, what ever ballance is left will get eaten by fees and when it hist 0 it will go into negative numbers and you owe the bank for What? Haveing the privilege of using your own money? Most will automatically close your account, but you get a bad check mark on your credit record..(go figure)

The bastards will suck all value you are letting them have out of you , just because you choose them to hold your money..

Just advice..
