New format?
 

I made a post about this in the announcements forum, and wanted to get some feedback from everyone. We're on a new (fast!!) server and a vastly upgraded version of VBulletin.

I'm in an upgrading mood. What would make this place better?

Also, I will probably be moving the forum from it's current location to www.tdtalk.com. Don't worry, I'll post a redirect and let everyone know!

I'm a member of another board that looks like this and I like it and I like the new blue although purple is my favorite color. Can I upload smilies to this server? I couldn't on the other one and my sister is hosting these on here for us.

What do you need to be able to upload smilies? If I give you a FTP account, can you take it from there?

Wow, what an improvement! I'm used to this version on another board I'm on, and the old one was starting to show its age!

Guess I could. Tell me in pm or email exactly how to do it. I just know when I tried to upload smilies it wouldn't let me store them on the server so we were stuck with dull smilies till my sister hosted them for me.

Ok Andy I have pop up a new window when I get a PM checked in my options but it's not working. Also I don't see a stick thread option under moderation options. OH wow this is like having a new toy to play with. The Adm Control Panel is also too cool. I'm playing in there if anybody needs me.

The Mod Control section is cool too! I apologise in advance if I accidentally delete anything I shouldn't - you know how it is with new toys...

Whoever added the halloween smilies, they're pretty nice!

I did, thank you, but I don't like them taking up so much space and don't know how to fix it without removing some. Wish it would do like the regular smiles and just add a more link.

Smilies are here if you post in quick reply you won't see them unless you click advanced. If you click on post reply then you will also see them.

Good to know it's mostly well-received. I know the new options can be a little daunting -- I need to get used to them too. But this server is blazing fast compared to the old one, and I'm glad it makes a noticable impact!

As for the smilies, I'll figure it out soon! Right now I'm out on the west coast (sunny Palm Springs California!) for a job interview, so I'll be scarce this weekend. Not that that's unusual for me around here. :)
