Thanks for that Cory. The historic stuff is great but McPherson's views on the influence of Charlie Parker IS the crux of this. Charles and I have had more than a few long discussions on this same thing and the interview nailed it. The concepts of Bird are still with us today whether that influence is acknowledged or not. Or as Mingus might have said "Bird Lives whether you like it or not!"
