I found this great little anecdote on the British "Do You Love Jazz" forum:
Just a story that amused me that a friend related. Ravi Coltrane was playing a gig on the West Coast and he noticed Jim Carrey in the audience. Now Ravi dug Carrey`s movies and during the intermission ask the guys in group if he should introduce himself to the movie star. The guys in the band urged Ravi to do so. So Ravi approached Carrey and introduced himself and told him how much he dug his movies. Carrey was overjoyed to meet Ravi, and told him of his life long love of jazz - "In fact" said the movie star " my father played tenor sax in the local band" " Wow ! what a bitch" said Ravi " My dad was a tenor player too" |
