Default Some Idle thoughts...
Idle thought of the day: How come in the Disney/Pixar "Cars" films, all that are living in this apparent parallel universe are modes of transportation, from cars, to trucks, to boats, airplanes and trains, with no human or animal existence, or evidence of it, but the "Dinoco" logo for the fuel they use is an actual dinosaur in animal-form?

Idle thought for the day:
I wonder why a vehicle from the early 70s seemed very old and from long-ago, back in the early 90s, but yet, a vehicle from the early 90s doesn't seem so terribly old today in 2012?

The '90s was the peak of advances in technology really. Look at everything in your house and on your car, it pretty much all existed 15-20 years ago.

Idle thought for the day:
The automobiles from most of the 70s, it may have been the malaise period in automotive history (especially in the USA), with tightening emissions and detuning to save fuel, due to lack of available tech, as well as tacked-on looking flat-bumpers to comply with standards, but, you gotta admit, those cars still did look good on the cop-shows, popular at that time.

Idle thought for the day:
Pee Wee Herman always quipped, "why don't you take a picture, it will last longer" (though that line's been used elsewhere), but now, with cellphone cameras being ubiquitous, that line has great credibility.

Idle thought for the day:
Isn’t in funny how when David Banner (Bruce Banner in earlier versions) transforms into the Incredible Hulk, he busts out of all his garments except his pants, just like when Charlie Brown is on his pitcher’s mound, and a line-drive whizzes by and he gets flipped by it, and of all his clothes fly off, but his pants manage to stay in place?!

Here's a little idle thought:
I do miss the days when you had basic TV cable, and didn't require a cable-box (as Cablevision had it), just the coaxial-cable set in the TV & VCR, and you used the set's remote. A clean and simple system.
As a matter of fact, I dearly miss when you didn't need cable at all, and just 7 stations of VHF and a couple of UHF, and didn't have monthly bills, let alone a Doctorate to install and operate componentry!

Idle thought for the day:

Is this coincidence or Murphy's Law...

At any given social situation, from anything from a gathering, to a bar or club, or a car cruise-night meet, I could be hanging around at times and feel invisible, and no one appears to pay attention to me (so it seems) - but... the minute I take my iPhone out, to either look at something, or to text, or even be on a phone-call, people start coming around me to ask questions, want to talk, or want my ear.

Is this just coincidence or timing?!
Any of you get this, too?

An idle thought for the day...

The Simpsons and Futurama, sort of today's answer to The Flintstones and The Jetsons.

Idle thought for the day: If it were possible to somehow pick an individual from as recent as 20 years ago, and place them into today, and seeing many people walking around and talking into discreet Bluetooth headsets, and into setup in vehicles, he would be under the impression that lots of schizophrenic people exist today.
