I was speaking to someone who used to work for Renault.
They are so anal about their designs, that it backfires really. She said that whilst at Peugeot they are more conceptual (they sketch ideas, develop them, etc) at Renault they assign 25 people to do a single doorhandle, and then if Patrick LeQuement doesn't like it, he has it changed to his idea anyway.
She says the whole design facility has too many internal political problems. I guess, looking at their cars and how worked out they are, it shows.
I also asked her about the new Twingo, and she just said "*sigh* dont even talk about that!"

Right. I mean when they're hired by the company is when they do wheels. And then move up as they progress.
