hmm.. I wrote 2 150-word stories and it took me 2 days to find something worthy to write about. I don't think I'll be a able to do 3 a day unless you guys have some kind of sources. I can still send them in if you want to take a look.

FjFHQLJQ 01-08-2007 03:02 AM

I didn't apply because I'm in Australia and it'd be harder to keep track of news in the USA or Europe or Japan from here. Thanks though!

orbidewa 01-08-2007 03:46 AM

lol go nocturnal...

FjFHQLJQ 01-08-2007 04:40 AM

I do! Haha... but I can't like walk up to the shops and buy a local mag, and I can't keep track of products that aren't even sold here, so I wouldn't be able to do the job that well http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emwink.gif

orbidewa 01-08-2007 04:43 AM

yeah if you did do it, every one of your posts would probably be sourced to here.

FjFHQLJQ 02-07-2007 07:41 AM

lol, at least a good deal of them. And a good few would be Australian industry news, lol...

aaaaaaahabbbby 04-08-2007 05:18 AM

Not to sound rude, but besides being 18, are there any sort of educational requirements (i.e. 2 year college degree, bachelors, etc). I have experience but it's not auto industry related nor do I have a journalism degree.

Hi M0L0TOV,
Are you a good writer? Do you know your stuff about cars or any particular specialty area about cars (i.e. motorsports, japanese cars, tuners, corporate/industry)? We don't require those things you mentioned although they can help. Most important, is that you are knowledgeable, can identify main points, make correlations to other relevant stories and communicate them in a concise and well written way. We also encourage you to make compelling arguments and criticisms but your arguments must be strong, because if they are not, the readers will certainly let you know. Although it makes for a better read, you don't have to be witty or constantly thought provoking all the time. Just be yourself.

JosephEL 05-07-2007 11:21 AM

Just to clarify, here's a little more info:
Job duties:
  • Search Internet news sources, which we provide access.
  • Identify breaking news stories
  • Download photos and text (if necessary)
  • Write blog post:
    • Summarize main points
    • Highlight relevancy to related stories
    • Criticize or comment
    • 150 to 300 words
    • Proof read

    Upload story to WCF blog

JosephEL 06-07-2007 12:12 PM

The positions have been filled. Big thanks to everyone who sent in applications.
Cheers,
Brian

Just out of curiosity, is this recruitment for the new blog over at WCF?

What exactly do you mean? THe title says it all if I am right in what you are saying.

JosephEL 06-24-2007 07:56 PM

Yes, it is. We are ready to take the blog out of beta test in the coming weeks. The position would be perfect for a college student or someone who spends a lot of time at the computer looking for the latest stories. We expect you to average 2 to 3 posts per day, 5 days per week. We would train you and teach you the procedure.

CathBraunn 06-24-2007 09:59 PM

Sounds like me.
