Still I think that for the price is hard not to argue for the amazing value relative to performance that the wrangler (in any of it's forms) presents, especially when you consider that a defender of similar (albeit slightly superior) performance is at least double the price and a discovery is even more expensive.
We're not talking price relative
Also, the Defender is a LOT cheaper than the Wrangler here, even Cheaper than the Land Cruiser. Its only in the USA that the Defender was expensive...
Yes, It's hard to argue against the Performance/money package of either of these three vehicles, and I'm not too interested in making one shine against the other two, because I love the three of them

Really? what are prices like for both vehicles over there? You can pick up a wrangler here for under $20k easy. Are defenders priced like that elsewhere or are wranglers just more expensive than the are in the US?

Jeep Wrangler (Old Generation) starts at AU$30,000, but easily crawl up to AU$40,000 - 40,000 IIRC if you dont want the bare as a bone one (Not sure if Its got the 4 cyl in base model). The new model though, I expected to hit 45,00-50,000 dollars, and the Unlimited should go from there.
Toyota Land Cruiser starts at (2 door Trayback model Utility) AU$45,000 ish, with the Troopcarriers going up to 60,000 dollars.
Land Rover Defender 90 was selling up to a couple of months ago at 35,000 dollars, but has been dropped, except on special order. The Defender 110 starts at 45,000 and the 130 Double Cab truck starts at 48,000.
So The Jeep is cheaper than the Toyota, and about in line with a Wrangler. The new Jeep will sit between the Land Rover and the Toyota price-wise.
My appologies, I mis-quoted the price of the Jeep on my last post, saying it was "Much more expensive". I was thinking in terms of value, but typing in terms of cash - my fault. It's not more expensive, but its not cheaper either - So the value for money argument doesn't really apply in Australia, especially considering the Wrangler base model is, I think, a 4 Cylinder petrol (2400cc) whilst the Base LR is the 2500 Straight 5 Turbodiesel and the Base Toyota is the 4200 Turbodiesel straight six, and both are the LWB models with long range fuel tanks and 3500kg towing capacity - both a must in Australia!
Either way, as I said, I dont question the ability of either vehicle, they're all trully great in their own way.

Looks like the Disco 3 would definitely be in the list, if there was an official list....
