Default Do you want a New Commercial Vehicle section on CSS
I've suggested a Commercial Vehicle section to be separate to the New Cars section.
What do you all think ?
My suggested idea is we put all
Truck based vehicles eg Ford F150 - F350
Heavy Trucks eg VW LT Crafter - Constellation Line & Buses
Utilities like the HiLux etc
Vans eg VW Caddy to VW Crafter
in the suggested section
Car based utilities like Ford Falcon and VW Saveiro ute IMO would be classed as New Cars seeing as though they are car based.
Also do you think there is enough info to start a separate section ?

Uhm...Why? We already put those vehicles into the new cars section, and there aren't enough of them to make a whole new section worth it. Sounds daft to me. (though thinking about ways to improve CSS is always good)

We don't have all the above mentioned vehicles in New Car section eg VW Constellation and Buses.
But thanks for your opinion it does matter

I love Kenworths, seeing them on CSS would be wicked. All for it.

Sure, i support the idea. Not that i'm very interested in buses, but why deny the possibility to those interested? Just find someone willing to moderate it.....

Errmm, that would be so much better suited to CommercialVehicleSpyShots.net
But in all seriousness, that would be incredibly dry.

To tell the truth, I really don't see the point. The only time the New Cars section really flows quickly is at the begining and end of the auto-show season.
As JBlair said, I don't feel there are enough commercial vehicles to warrant such a change...
Negative from me.

I know there isn't as much passion in commercial vehicles as much as cars but so many members are already so much about the market and sales that I don't see a difference between this and cars. I was always interested in how much power some commercial vehicles produce and other specifications. I mean they have like 12-liter engines and can carry 50,000lb loads. I'd also like to learn more about how European brands like MAN, Mercedes... compare to American. So I'm all for it!

I think we should have one. There has been trouble in the past discerning which commercial vehicles could be discussed here. Mercedes vans and such were deemed acceptable, but when I posted about the new Diesel-Hybrid Isuzu ELF truck, it was not acceptable. A commercial vehicle section would clarify this. Plus, its not like it could hurt anything, it might even draw in new members interested in that topic. I think it would be a great addition to the boards.

Its around 50/50 on yes/no votes, I think a trial would either confirm what the naysayers say or the complete opposite.
We should give it a go see what happens.
Now if Ascariss(Admin) gives the trial the greenlight will need to discuss or vote what goes in the NEW CV section...........
or Admins & Mods can work out what would work best for them to manage.

I voted "no," but I sort of see your point, phaeton. It can get little overwhelming as so many new cars debut, but if we have a "New" thread for every car type, this forum is going to become very disorganized and threads will constantly get moved/locked because they aren't in the right section.

Ok, what we're going to do is allow commercial vehivles in new vehicles area AND when the next big comercial vehicles news shows up, we'll make a thread and sticky it in there. If people respond well to that, we might reconsider the issue.
This is what I gather anyway, so word from above will confirm or rectify what I say.

Not inclined for that one at all, it's outside of automotive definition, whilst commercial vehicles are in many cases derived from cars and are very similar if you see what I mean.

A really good point you've stumped me on that one.
Maybe CSS should change its name to ASS AutomotiveSpyShots j/k

No way. There are plenty of dedicated forums for cycles.
Moreover, the idea of stickying a commercial vehicles thread in New Cars doesn't sit well with me, either. It'll just clutter it up... I hate too many stickies.
Plus, where does it end? What's next, a tuner car section? Can't we at least somewhat limit the scope to make this forum more manageable? As you may have surmised, I fear change.

Not that I've looked, but I'm sure that there would be a few forums dedicated to heavy duty vehicles, as you sugested. I like CSS the way it is and to be fully honest, I don't think anything needs to be changes. Nice and simple...
