Hey people, remember when CSS was young, most of us where young, and Santeno... well he was still old back then...
![]() The Changes I've perceived, I reckon that this site has changed heaps. There are way more cool members now, but I still wonder what happened to a lot of people. Some have become radically more inactive (I can think of "The Kid 89" |

Boy, a lot has changed since the old days. The numbers are what get me. From the small bunch at Arborwood to the ammount we have now is astonishing. Plus the fact that we now have true media credintials (I think) is pretty cool. I remember the days where Naga used to post under the name Hatred Incorporated and I could not stand any of his posts. Then when the name changed to Naga, the posts seemed to change and I see why they made him a mod. The grammar and spelling and punctuation had improved a bunch, but has taken a slip as of late. But this is a car forum, not an English professor forum, so I guess that's fine. I sometimes miss the loose environment of the older days, but understand the need for stricter moderation. I just wish that sometimes the arguements could progress more and stay rational, but obsurd. They're still rational, but the obsurd parts are left out or mods erase them, which leads to a better, more useful environment. I could go on, but I'll see what everyone else says before I add more.

i've noticed alot of members coming and going, and i agree w/ superfresa in that alot have gotten alot more mature, including, IMO, me. at least i hope so. the automotive design section has gotten way more active lately, i've already gotten 9 or 10 replies to my last thread, which it would have usually taken a week to do. that's more of a short-term change though.

i joined CSS when the new website was launched (i was under another username that i can't remember, but i changed it to my current one because it wasn't working; i barely posted on the old one though). i think this website is by far the best place for up-to-date car info. also, the members get along fantastically. Other places, such as AUTOWEEK, have big problems with staying on topic and don't know when to stop cursing. Thanks to everyone who has made CSS an extremely special place...
speaking of CSS...when was this website started? who started it, why, etc? whoever knows about this stuff, please post; i am eager to learn! |

I know some of those but ill let someone who knows more about ti to post
![]() I used to be a lurker for a few months and then joined up which was more than a year ago so i guess I've been around for a while. I posted a lot during my first few months and now not as much but i do spend a great deal of time on the site. This site pretty much taught me forum-ism. The site to me doesn't seem to have changed too much, always excellent posts and world class info. The lounge has gotten a bit boring as of late but thats porbably becuase of a lack of Naga threads. |

yea, i only joined back in like january. i was a lurker for a while and then i decided the post when i watched some of those cadillac v series ads where they show the car for like a second and i thought it was a srx v instead of a sts v so i joined and posted my opinion. obivously turns out i was wrong. i was actually a lurker on the old site too but i didnt join cuz i thought i had to pay...lol. when the transistion was made from v2 to v3 it took me a while to get used to reading it cuz it was very different. i actually didnt like the v3 format in the beginning but now im good.

I think i used to be Danny02 or Danny01 but then i changed to Hornbag_1 i think? I actually got a bit sick of the old site, i remember people always arguing and another dude (James) invited me to the fordaustraliaforum and it all seemed good. Then i got banned for bashing or something, LOL! Then i cmae back to the old site, then you guys moved! lol, so here i am, now im Hornbag! I think ive changed a lot, i think im a little more mature from the days when all i used to post was "american peice of s**t". LOL! |

You guys are nuts, the site ain't that old, we hit 4 years next july I believe and only 1 year in january since the move from proboards to Zeroforum.
and we are 3 years old now, did we forget the 3rd anniversary this year on the 23rd, unless you guys actually mentioned it? Since I was away for those day, well didn't check the forum. quick history written up by Andre back on the old board: On July 23rd, 2002, A small forum began on the servers of http://www.Arborwood.com. Called Car Spy Shots, it thrived for ten months, gathering 200 members, and the respect of a number of industry professionals. On June 12, 2003, it moved to a new host at http://www.Proboards.com forum hosting. Once again, over Ten months, it bloomed, gathering members, photographers, and earning its name in the industry. As each time goes, Car Spy Shots receives more respect, praise, and a better quality of information. On February 11, 2004, a brief facelift and addition of features made the website more exciting, professional, and easier to use for a number of people. Car Spy Shots has gathered over 5500 members in 19 months, and has been accessed 5.2 Million times. ThatÂs an average of about 10,000 views per day, and a net gain of 10 members per day. |

Well that's up to him, I dont think we need any updates and anyway its not my buissiness (sp, w/e) I'm happy with it as it is.
Ascariss I know the site isn't THAT old but still IMO it has changed sooo much... My experience with this site in brief is: - Found it linked through the land rover chronicle, straight into a thread about the first LR3 spy shots, will be 3 (or 2?) years in october I think... Joined even though I didn't know what a forum was, and had never joined anything on the internet. - Posted actively until april 23 last year, when after an assault and several problems with my life kept me away until October. During this absence is when all the changes occurred, and when most of todays active members joined. - Been posting ever since actively except for 2 pauses of arround a month or 2 each due to other problems, and became a little more inactive a month ago but I'm still here as I said back then... And at least I believe I myself post more intelligent stuff now than back then! Over this time, changes are imminent, and for good IMO. Well happy late aniversary to css anyway! Naga din't know you were actually warned at some point, and now you're a moderator... Also noticed today that knicks.125 is now moderating as well! Good work on getting up there! |

I can barely remember life without CSS, but it was an outlet as at the time I started I was on disability from a car accident less than a year before, and "Foruming" had given me a way to pass the time, since then It's been a place to escape my family which has hit a few bumps in the road since the December after CSS started.
Beyond that, I've seen the scenery here change, the information grow in qualty and content, to levels I myself am having a hard time keeping up with. I see very few of the original CSS-ers, but many new faces with new information and personalitys. I'm glad you all enjoy CSS and am glad to be a part of it |
