actually you'd be surprised how little such things tell about the ultimate person you become or your charachter. IMO those activities tell more about the things you like to do or things you are trying to obtain/goals you are seeking than anything else. The funny thing is that once you hit college and/or real life, most people never engage in a similar number or variety of activities. Wait until you get out of Highschool and you'll see how things change. whether you go to college or not, the nature of activities or organizations you are likely to join will change. Quote me on this.
That said, I mainly played sports in highschool (football and track being the main ones); I taught raquetball in college, and was a member or officer of a few campus organizations in college. As a proffesional I am a member of a coupleof proffesional organizations, and as a graduate student I am a member of nothing. I have been offered invitations to join the lions club, the shriners (ie. masons), and various different christian sects, but at this point in time none of that has really interested me enough to pursue further.

Track and cross country, otherwise I'm lazy I guess. Was going to be a tutor in a peer tutorial program this summer, just didn't have enough time.
What do you other track people do? This year I ran the 1600m (Mile) and 3200m (2 mile). Ran a 5:13 and 11:42 at league finals (Where I finished at the last 3/4 of the pack, haha)

*sigh* I hate the stupid marching horn... so heavy... so I decided to try out for drum major. http://www.germancarfans.com/images/forums/biggrin.gif

Penisvergroesserung 01-23-2006 07:00 AM

i ran 2 miles in about 14 minutes during soccer practice... I was one of the last and nearly f***ing died trying to outrun this one kid sprinting in full pace for half the last of eight rounds around the football/soccer field. http://www.germancarfans.com/images/forums/bonk.gif
I'm sure if I had better timing I'd have a better result. (We only did this once.)

Back in the younger days, I used to run the 400, 500, 440 relay and 800. Back in those days I used to run the 400 in 50 seconds and the 800 in about 2 minutes. Those days are long gone now (replaced with wonderful shin splints).
In football I wasn't too big so I couldn't play some of the rougher positions (hey I bruise easy), but I was fast, so I played wide receiver.

vipdumpp 01-29-2006 07:00 AM

Group one

But I believe that my activities reflect myself well. Band because of my love for music, not just rock and roll. UIL social studies and current events because Im very into history and news. Destination Imagination because I like being creative and crazy sometimes. LYFE club because I enjoy helping people, I was even voted most friendly and helpful. And I also like making friends and being outgoing, so I ran for senior class treasurer and won. Most of my activities reflect me well.

I'm in Orchestra, too-- I'm the section leader for that, as well, since the rest of the Horn section consists of two Alto Sax players. XD
*edit* I'm in Marching Band, too! I'm thinking of trying out for drum major. */edit*
I used to be in Speech and Debate but debate is just so tedious and it's... like an attempt to seem to be intellectual.
I'm planning on joing Gay-Straight Alliance and Amnesty International next year. Maybe even the Green Club.
And I've spend over 300 hours doing voulnteer stuff pertaining to tutoring and taking care of Elementary School children (but only 34 of those are usable for the 40 hour requirement that the local school dictrict has mandated... *sigh*).

That said, I don't think that one's activities necessairly shows much about a person's character. In my case, it does, to an extent-- I enjoy music, I enjoy arguing, I support gay rights, I prefer peace as opposed to violence (despite my violent nature...), and I enjoy working with children.

I played prop this year, due to the lack of a front row this year, but I normally play second row.
Both, but it's my club side coming up there. I personally hope to meet you... and spear you. http://www.germancarfans.com/images/.../1orglaugh.gif
So you're a foward. I always imagined you as a small kid, but mate, if we meet - you'll probably nail me.

Funny you should ask....
I made the mountain bike team in my school 3 years ago, and I'm team captain and pretty much I make the rules out there. I set that team to be the best in my city, and have won vastly 6 times in a row now. Today they made a farewell party for me, that's why it's funny you should ask http://www.germancarfans.com/images/forums/biggrin.gif They're really proud of me and I'm really proud of my team http://www.germancarfans.com/images/forums/biggrin.gif
I was also in the athletism team, I ran 1500mts, 2000mts when ever they had it. I was quite good actually.

Nah, I don't play club rugby, but I'm thinking about it for next season.
Well, I'm not overly beefy, but I'm not like skinny for a back either. So they stuck me in the forwards.
