Cabron literally means "Big/large male Goat". As a slang term it can mean slightly different things depending on which hispanic country the term is being used. In some countries it's considered an acceptable form of slang while in others it is considered highly offensive.
For the most part, as slang the term is the equivalent of calling someone a Motherfucker; an Asshole; a jerk; or someone who takes unfair advantage of, deceives, or manipulates another. The severity of the meaning depends on the emphasis of the conversation being had and in which country you are using the term.
In rarer occassions and in many fewer hispanic countries, the term can be used to mean a person who is cheating on his partner. It is an extension of another latin slang (I say latin because it is also used by the french and italians), which is to "put the horns" on someone, which means to cheat on them with someone else. since goats have horns and you are being an ass by cheating, you are naturally being a Cabron.

Yup, don't know what it means but sounds funny to me, for some reason. In spanish we have the word 'cabrn'. Maybe Santeno can translate it for you not-spanish speakers. I know the translation but i might get a warning, you know.

Well, for educational purposes only, originally a 'cabrn' is the guy who is being cheated, or the one who is 'receiving the horns'. But with time the word aquired that other meaning you said(asshole, bastard, you get it)
