I have this bolt on:

http://www.o2.co.uk/internationalfavourites

I'm sure other network providers have a similar (if not better) deal.

EDIT: o2 appears not to acknowledge the existence of Switzerland.

Ah crap, this would've looked interesting indeed... I will try to dig a bit and see if I can find this type of deal with other providers who'd actually cover Switzerland

7p a minute with international bolt on:

http://www.o2.co.uk/explore/tariffs/...nationalcaller

I've just checked with a customer services advisor at o2 and Switzerland is definitely not an option on the International Favourites 3.

Ok so the best is to actually choose a monthly UK plan that will minimise the cost of her UK use, add the relevant international bolt-on, and compare between providers I suppose...

Just found this: http://www.billmonitor.com
Pretty neat tool, I think I managed to get a good idea of what deal I should get her!

try Phones4U as they have some good offers but if you go in store they won't provide those offers that are online.

I'm currently trying to get a phone from them but because I've ordered it to be delivered to an address that isn't my billing address on my card they've thrown a paddy and I probably can't get that phone after all [thumbdown]

Found another, even better solution: Skype.

I can get a sim only £7.71/month deal (incl 300min + 300txt, unlimited data) and get Skype Unlimited Europe incl. UK... for £4.99/month!

Default Help me out with mobile contracts!
In a nutshell...

My wife has a Nokia E5 with Talkmobile PAYG. She's not into using internet, she just wants a phone with QWERTY keyboard and a decent cam for the occasional mms. That Nokia is just fine.

Now she's getting increasingly annoyed with the PAYG (running out of credit while on the move, or abroad and you just can't properly top up). So I was thinking about getting her a decent contract.

What would you guys suggest, considering the above? Note that she'll be calling from the UK to Switzerland (where her mom lives) fairly regularly, and otherwise using it for texting and calling occasionally in the UK.

All these existing contract providers are a nightmare to browse through and usually don't give much details about costs if calling abroad regularly. Also there are these special Ratebuster/Dialphone/Whatever services that cloud the picture even more...
