Understood. Similarly, Coppermine's 5GHz i5 is faster than my 3.6GHz i7, but that does not make my CPU slow. Again, the complaints about the iPhone 4 rarely relate to CPU performance.

Side Note: This is disgusting, but, in the past two hours or so, I decided that I am going to both get a new phone (I need tethering so iPhone might be out) and upgrade my PC.
I think for the power user the 4S will provide some nice enhancements. As Mute has said, the A5 chip is very fast, and with the new GPU, games should look stunning. However, I almost feel the last point is kind of moot since the screen is so damn small. For general users I feel the 4 is more than enough to suit their needs. I have until November when I can upgrade to a 4S, so we'll see how the Nexus Prime turns out. If it's a stunner, I'll endure the change of switching to a new OS. If not, I'll probably just pick up Apple's newest offering.

[rofl]

1 million pre-orders in 24 hours says differently.
I was actually being honest, but I can see how what I said could be taken differently. I know that the 4s is selling well, but I also know that many wanted a new hardware refresh with 4g ala Iphone 5. Thats what I was trying to say- Sorry you didnt get iphone 5, but at least you got ios5.

Sorry for the confusion.

I'm fortunate enough to have 4G in my area, hence the reason to want a 4G phone. However, there many, many places that do not have it, so for most iPhone users it probably isn't that big of a deal. A bigger screen on the other hand....

I have the same feelings about the iPhone 4S.

The lure of a much bigger screen and the customizability of Android is too strong.

Anyway, ios 5 is running fine on my good old 3GS. Like a swan song for the last 2 months I'd use an iphone.

You have to wait while iTunes restores your apps at the end, even though on the device it looks like it's done.

I don't see the weather ticker on my iPad in notifications but it's there on my iPhone 4 and I can't get iCloud to connect.

The brand new facebook app on iPad has gone a bit flaky as well.

Yes that added another hour at least to the process on my 4 but the wifes phone never attempted to do it.

Seriously im not posting this on a wind up, i am though shocked at what you say?
I recieved an update on my phones (htc sensation & htc desire hd), one was.a patch the other was a os update i hadnt bothered with.
The os update was done in less than 15mins over the air with no need grief.

I thought by now apple would have made a step in that direction considering they copied google witg icloud concept?

Android updates are insignificant in comparison to how Apple does it.

Download the 700mb OS
Fully backup your device to your computer (up to 64gb data)
Install the OS
Restore everything to exactly how it was

Bear in mind though the number of iPhone users and the fact every man and his dog worldwide was trying to do it at the same time, though I am surprised it took that long.

One of the new features in iOS5 is OTA (WiFi) updates. These updates are not the full huge firmware every time like with previous iOS updates. They are only the changed files so are much smaller.

Of course though with the release of iOS5 everyone needs to do a full update from iOS4 first to get this feature.

Really? I had a few games on my girlfriends iPhone 4 and when she updates all the games were restored but the saves were lost.

Maybe it was an error, but I can backup everything on my Android including all saved settings/games and restore everything once the update is complete. Sure it's not automatic but it's effective.

I have yet to lose any game saves when updating iOS.

Really?
Well I thought so initially, but most of my games have lost all of their saved data. It's pissed me right off.
