And it's only $30. Windows could learn a thing or two from that sweet pricing.

What, to charge for every service pack?

I see blogs reporting it but do you have a link to Apple confirming it?

I am more interested in the Mac Mini refresh than Lion as we are already running it.

No, for new OSes, not hundereds of dollars for an upgrade to an OS that works how it should have in the first place. (Looking at you, Vista. [rofl])

OSX of 2011 is not the same OSX of 2001.

But yeah I get your point.

On the surface, 7 isn't all that different than Vista. I would be hard pressed to name even a handful of new features between the two. However, 7 is undoubtedly faster and more reliable, and IMO their best OS yet.

With that said the jump from Vista to 7 and Snow Leopard to Lion are about the same in regards to features, just that Lion is 1/10th the price.

Agreed, though most of the updates are worthless except SSD TRIM support.

Been downloading for a few hours now... Taking forever, probably only about 20%.

Read somewhere it takes quite a while but the actual install takes about 20 mins.

The servers must be getting hammered then.
