Thing is I am going to look for a car in Aachen. I have to drive it back to Holland with special numberplates that I have to get at verkehr und kreis ambt.

Anything formal or official gets at least twice as scary when spoken or written in German. It's really creepy how they've managed to do that. I think it may be so that the only possible response to anything they say automatically becomes "Sir yes sir yes please please god yes!".
