Riva TNT2 M64 poor, poor choice of card. I read around trying to work out if my bottleneck was memory or card - I even wrote to a magazine of the time! Wanted to upgrade my GeForce 2 Ultra to a GeForce 3 so I came here to find the best manufacturer. Found out the GeForce 4 was right around the corner so I waited and got a Gainward Ti 4400.

I had a 1.7 GHz P4 Willamette with 256 MB of Rambus(later upgraded to 768 MB for a pretty penny).

Chrome orb was the worst thing I ever bought. Still have my 60mm delta.

Bit of random trivia while we're at it...

In early 2002 I bought a 60mm, full copper heatsink that was the first to have heat pipes. I remember posting pics of it in the modding / cooling forum when it arrived and everyone thought it was a dumb gimmick, but that thing really worked! I can't remember what the model was though for the life of me. Really wish the forum went all the way back to then; so many quality post could be dug up.

I was running it on a brand spanking new Compaq pesario 700mhz Athlon. I came to this site trying to figure out every little tweak to give me a better score. Even if it was by only a few points. It was so much fun back then.

Oh it was, i cant even get myself to OC anymore. I can remember way back when i could spend hours just trying to get the highest stable oc i can get even if it meant a 1mhz difference

ATI Rage Pro 128 GL, it included a little 3d demo called "Rage Dawning" by a company called "Futuremark".


There weren't any forums yet when I first visited, but when I got my TNT2 Ultra I found another little 3d demo showing off the texturing capabilities of my new card.

So a few months later I visited again and found 3d mark 99 and ran that, and soon thereafter there were forums, I had actually made a different login slightly before this one, but it's lost to time and dead email addresses.
