Default new gallery folder in android?
Is there a way to do it on the phone? It looks simple enough to do on the PC software, but not on the handset. I want to move some pictures I have taken of my house for insurance purposes into a new folder.

Do you have a 'file explorer' type app? There are apps for managing the file system out there not sure what is the best though

All the ones I've seen are either paid for or rubbish and the description doesn't mention if they can do that so I don't want to fork out. I'll get back to Google. Thanks anyway.

Another vote for ES.

Use it for browsing my phone, and I also have it set up to connect to my FTP server.

Couldnt you just make a folder thru windows explorer when you connect your phone to the pc?? If all ur wanting to do is create a new folder and copy n paste pix wouldnt that be the easiest way?? Or are you trying to do something more complicated than that?

I don't mean to be a ****, but have you heard of the XDA forums? Also, if you wanted a flawless Android experience, you should have gone HTC.

DM, have you not considered uploading them to Picasa in a private album?
They'll still show in your gallery as if they're stored locally and you can still share them like they're on your phone. You'll also have the advantage of being able to access them via any internet connected computer or phone in the browser.

The screenshots above are from some of my uploaded pictures and they synced across all of my Android devieces.

If your phone goes stolen or damaged and replaced, all you'd have to do is log into your GMail account and your pictures would be available almost instantly.

I have done this, but my Picasa albums seem to have disappeared from my gallery. I know I can get them back, I just haven't bothered. I'll try that. The trouble is, they all go into the picasa drop box don't they?

I've tried loads of HTC phones up to the Desire HD and none of them have been a patch on the SGS2.

I really can't be bothered registering on another forum I'll use once or twice.

Try checking in Settings > accounts and sync, tap your Gmail account and see if Picasa web albums is set to sync. That may help them reappear!

I believe if you share them direct from the phone you get to specify a new album or and existing one you have.

Picasa,
Flickr,
Smugmug,
Facebook,
Photobucket,
Windows Live,
Tumblr

and it's got a decent UI
